DIY Apartment Art
14 Aug
A few months ago I moved into a new apartment, and between work, trips, and lack of funds the walls have been left bare for far too long. After searching etsy and finding amazing artists such as Lulu and Drew, Paint the Runway, I knew I had to splash some colors on these white walls. Unfortunately, I still had an empty bank account. I decided to take these amazing ladies’ work and use it as inspiration for my own artwork!
My mother is an amazing artist, I however, do not have that talent. She took me to Michael’s Crafts and did her best to set me up with the basics: canvases, brushes, brush cleaner, a palette to mix colors, and a few fun colors. I purchased 12 canvases, 10+ paint colors, two sets of brushes and more for under $100. From there, I’ve already made 5 pieces of art with over half my supplies still leftover.
I used four small canvases with the same color palette to create complimentary pieces in my hallway. From pinterest, I found a fun neon saying, (sadly without a source) that I decided to recreate myself! When you’re strapped for cash, head over to your local art store and start DIYing. I had way too much fun making these, regardless of the end result. My best friends and I are already planning a crafternoon together.
So what do you think, would you DIY your own home art?!
NOTE: I want thank the artists previously linked for their inspiration and encourage those who have the financial ability to purchase and support them!

Lauren, those look amazing! I absolutely love dots one on the upper right hand corner. i wish that we lived closer so that we could have a crafternoon together!
