Fall Fitness

28 Aug

This weekend, after a Saturday spent at endless brunch, followed by a beer garden, I had a fitness epiphany. We spend all of Spring working on getting into beach shape. Once the end of summer rolls around, we start being excited for fall: sweaters, boots, and with all those layers comes a lack desire to hit the fitness pavement again. So on Sunday, I dusted off my free weights, unrolled my yoga mat, and laced up my sneakers. I fit in not only one, but TWO workouts. I realized a few things:

1. Fitness clothes actually matter.

Since purchasing these Victoria Secret Pink Shorts, I have felt much more comfortable working out in shorts which is crucial in the summer.

2. A good playlist is 100% necessary.

Right now I have Calvin Harris’ Feel So Close, Timeflies‘ new mixtape, and Jesse Marco on repeat.

3. Appropriate gear is necessary.

TJMaxx secretly is the best place to buy all fitness materials. Start with free weights so you can work out at home if you don’t have time to hit the gym. I also highly suggest a yoga mat, not only for well, duh yoga itself, but for post workout stretching as well!

4. Jogging is better, if you have a gorgeous destination.

A little run was made better by seeing the sunset over Battery Park.

What are your favorite fitness tips and tricks?

You’re totally right about the workout clothes. If I feel uncomfortable while working out it really throws me off.
I’ve just gotten into running apps and now I can go for a run with out my iphone/app. I love how it keeps track and says where you’re at.
September is awesome time to set new fitness goals!

Fitness clothes, another excuse to shop!

I’ll have to look into these apps, let me know if you have any specific ones I should download.

      Thanks!
